Mom-Approved Natural Baby Products

There are so many options when it comes to products for our babies, from the soap we use for baths to the vitamin supplements they might need. It can be overwhelming! Below are four tried-and-true natural baby products that are free from harmful chemicals such as parabens and sulfates and for some of the items — they are biodegradable, compostable, and free of artificial flavors dyes.

Natural baby product: Baja Baby Lavender Body Lotion

1. Baja Baby Organic Lavender Lotion

Love the calming lavender scent and even more, I love that it’s 100% natural, free of parabens, sulfates, and phosphates, and EWG (Environmental Work Group) verified. In addition to using this on my baby and toddlers, I use this lotion myself. It’s light feeling and doesn’t leave behind a sticky residue.

Natural baby products: Carina Organics Baby Shampoo & Bodywash

2. Carina Organics Baby Shampoo and Body Wash

This tear free, hypoallergenic shampoo and body wash is certified organic, and doesn’t produce a ton of lather. You can choose from a scented (very light) or unscented formula and it scores a 1 rating from EWG. Ingredients include plant, vegetable, flower and tree extracts, all organic. I use this to wash my newborn and my toddlers’ hair.

Zarbee's Naturals Vitamin D Drops

3. Zarbee’s Naturals Vitamin D Drops

Since I’m exclusively breastfeeding, my pediatrician recommended giving my baby vitamin D drops. I love Zarbee’s because there’s only two ingredients and no artificial flavors, dyes, or coloring.

Nest Plant-Based Diapers

4. Nest Diapers

Nest is new on the diaper scene. I was sent a month’s trial to sample and I have to say in terms of leak protection they are on par with the Huggies we had been using. These natural, plant-based diapers are made of sustainable materials, and are free of harmful chemicals, lotions, perfumes, and known allergens. They are also compostable.
