We’ve been to some great farmer’s markets before, but after a recent visit to Singh Farms — nothing really compares. With it’s myriad of trees and winding dirt paths, you’ll feel like you’ve discovered an enchanted woodland tucked away in the desert. There’s something for everyone here, from great organic produce, truly delicious eats, whimsical picnic areas (think chairs and tables made out of tree stumps), animals, and a garden!
One of my favorite parts of any market is the food. I love strolling through, perusing the different options, and then deciding on what goodies I’ll be getting that day. We started out with a pulled pork and potatoes au gratin dish from Chef Aurore de Beauduy of Vogue Bistro that was 1. some of the best pulled pork we’ve ever had and 2. a delightful blend of flavors. They also had these shortbread cookies that were equally as amazing.
Next we took a stroll through the garden, where we saw the different flowers and produce being grown, but also found some quaint little nooks where your family can sit for a picnic lunch or enjoy the tunes from the accordion player. A little further past the garden is the yoga spot, plus the chicken coops and horse corral! One of the horses was grazing right up against the gate so my son was able to pet his neck. So sweet to see and his first encounter with a horse.
We made our way back to the central part of the market and had to stop for the fresh-made pizza we saw a lot of people touting around. There was a bit of a line, but it went fast. The pizza took about 20 minutes to make, and let me tell you it was worth the wait! The ingredients were super fresh and the sauce was robust. Our food tour ended with a tasty Italian Cream Ice from DeMarco’s Italian Ice. The ingredients are all natural, with no artificial flavors or syrups, and it’s made in small batches. We had the banana cream and it was a delicious and cool treat!
You’ll also find a nice selection of sweets, breads, produce, and fresh-pressed drinks. There were also some super-cute hanging succulents in moss containers. If you haven’t been to Singh Farms yet, it’s a great way to spend the morning with your family!
